Welcome to Carterworld. The blog where I share the rough, the smooth, and everything in between… Promise it’s an interesting ride.
16/5/22 – How I ‘moved mountains’ to get global media coverage for Kenton Cool’s record 16th Everest summit:
Wait, Susie – you’re talking about something deeply personal…?!
Granted – Most people don’t share personal health challenges on their corporate website.
But for me, getting diagnosed with MS supercharged my motivation, drive and determination to live every day to the full. It’s rocket fuel for perspective.
I’m lucky – as it stands, my MS is an invisible illness, and doesn’t affect my work or social life.
As such, I agonised over whether to share my diagnosis. I was scared people would make snap judgements and write me off in terms of work. But then I realised I can’t live my life in fear of ‘What Ifs’. I’m an ‘open book’ and transparency is my middle name. (I mean, it isn’t – but y’know).
The aim of these videos is to show my resilience and determination, rather than ‘flaws’. And maybe help other people to break through stigma and feel safe talking about MS.

Step 2 – From Neuro Ward to Paddle Board
Here’s how I went from neuro ward to paddle board, and why MS has made me more determined than ever to enjoy Every. Single. Day.
Step 3 – MS affect my work? Get outta’ here.
When I shared my MS diagnosis, some people told me I needed to quit my business for an ‘easier life…’
Here’s why I have no plans to give up any aspect of my life….
